Summer 2010 Survey sent out

October 22nd, 2010
Comments Off

Well even tho the survey was a tad bit late, it was sent out a few days ago (via the newsletter) to all Summer 2010 participants. Please check our mailbox (or spam box) to see if you got it.  If it was in your spam, simply ‘whitelist’ (mark not spam) it, so that you always get future updates from us.

This survey is a critical piece to the league, so please take the short few minutes to click through and vote.  Unlike standard political elections, these votes actually make changes possible ;)

Fall 2010 Pickup

August 31st, 2010

Well it has been asked over and over again, are we playing Fall Season? Current answer is “We dunno”. However, we are putting our foot down and scheduling more Frisbee for all, by means of making Wednesdays at 6pm pickup night at LakeShore Woods Park.

So lets get out there and play some more until we are all dead tired (or cut and bleeding if you like).

Summer Season 2010 is over!

Thank you everyone for making this Summers season one of our best, hopefully everyone enjoyed the Hat Tournament at the end (as well as the food).  For those of you who made it out to Average Joe’s we had a great turnout and enjoyed ourselves after a hard day of Ultimate Frisbee.

A couple shout outs go to volunteers, for helping organize such a GREAT event for the League, without you the volunteers we would not be the sports league we are today! Thank you!

For those league members that didn’t get to come out to the tournament, we have a gift for you from the board.  Please email your captains for details, and they will point you in the right direction.

For everyone else, stay tuned to your email, we will send out some updates via newsletter for things like pickup and fall play (if any).

Oh and here are some photos taken by Jen M. from Agent Orange, take a look and enjoy!

And again, thank you for a superb season everyone!

Summer 2010 – Hat Tournament

August 19th, 2010
Comments Off

Well our season is almost over, all that remains is this weekends Tournament.  Our volunteers (together with the board) have planned a fun event, and we all hope that many of you will make it.  Please RSVP with your captains (important) if you are coming.

The run down:

  • Sunday August 22nd 2010 – 9:30 am (we need you there on time so we can organize into teams)
  • We are looking at a start time of 10am till 2-3pm (remember noon is the hottest time of the day!)
  • This will be a ‘Hat Tournament’ so we will take everyone present, mix it up and create new unique teams.
  • Win or loose, we are playing for spirit and for fun.
  • There will be plenty of refreshment and food on the field, we are planning a rest station

What you will need:

  • YOU, yes you! Come on out don’t be shy!
  • Sunscreen / bugspray / a hat (if you need one for the sun!)
  • BLACK & WHITE shirts, since teams are randomized we will play traditional black vs white.
  • Canned goods.  We are organizing donations this year for the Windsor Food bank, so please contribute if you can!
  • RSVP YOUR CAPTAIN — this is important to get numbers for sunday, we are hoping for 80 people.
  • If you are feeling creative, bake something to share with everyone.
  • Did I mention, you? yeah bring yourself, no excuses!

What this is not

  • An all out super competitive event, we are all about spirit on this one, cross out hearts, we promise.. no really.. no joke! Come out and have some fun, don’t worry about winning or loosing. Bring your spirit!
  • Contrary to some grumbling, a hat tourney does not ‘suck’ it is a great way to mix up the teams and play with others you’ve gone head to head with throughout the year, appreciate someone else’s talents for a change! So quit being a Debbie downer!

So remember, bring a canned good, and RSVP your captains!  Important.  And see you out there sunday morning, we want to start early to beat the heat. After the games, we will retire to Average Joes for our after party (we have food planned / purchased for you as well as a gift from the league to you, which you don’t want to miss!).

Following the Average Joes Party, the Windsor Ultimate Board will have a public meeting per our non-profit guidelines, we will give you some background information on our sport, stats on this years attendance, moneys collected, and how all that was used for your benefit.  You can ask us questions, volunteer to help out in the future, etc.

See everyone out there Sunday!
